The Rattlebone Band play primarily for English Ceilidh, English Country and Contra dances. However, we are also available for concerts where we perform an eclectic selection of songs and tunes, usually with a strong British Isles influence, but also including some reflecting our Canadian heritage.
Our music is mostly very lively and on the loud side, being based on a rhythm section comprising banjo/guitar, tuba and drums. Indeed, we have been known to shake up and surprise (pleasantly, we are told!) a few English Country dancers, particularly when we get the rock 'n' roll guitar going! However, rest assured we can occasionally be persuaded to play subtly!
